Inspiration: Loish

One of my favorite artists is Lois van Baarle, a.k.a. "Loish," a digital illustrator from the Netherlands. Her work has a very earthy, shadowy tone, and many of her figures appear to be floating underwater. It amazes me that she does most of her work from imagination, especially considering the complex lighting she uses in her pieces.

I am seriously considering buying a print of this work. I love the muted colors. But I don't know where I would hang this, no place on the wall seems good enough! Although Loish doesn't have an Etsy shop, you can buy prints of some of her work through her deviantart store.

She makes me want to learn digital art too - I've been experimenting with it lately, in fact! Check out this tiny little drawing I made of Captain Picard!

Hey, it's a start, right?
