The Fur Grandchild portrait

This is my mom and her fur grandchild, Flopper. Flopper is a "Flemish Giant," and he is huge. This drawing is based on a photo by the most excellent Drozian Photoworks.

I love this picture because Flopper's expression is like, "moooooom! you're embarrassing meee!"

Check out those rimless glasses! Oh yeah!

Part of me wants to start drawing animals, because I know there's business in pet portraits. And part of me says, "so what?" Rabbits are cute, but in general I prefer drawing people. Still, maybe I'll try giving animals another shot.

(Nancy or Amanda, have any good photos of your dogs? Lanie, how about Mochuck?)

  5. Thank you so much, Kelley, for your comment on my blog! I hadn't seen your work before, and I'm blown away! It's amazing! I would have commented sooner, but I found myself drawn deep into your blog, catching a peek here and there when time allowed! Congratulations on getting accepted to art school. By the way, I do find watercolor difficult!
