It's looking more like a cat and less like a Totoro now. I've started structuring the fur, deciding how it will flow on each part of the body. You can see on the bottom right corner I tried working on the edge of the fur, trying to find a way to make it blend into the background and look soft and fluffy.
I underestimated the difficulty of shading white fur. Why did I have to choose a white cat? Because I'm a masochist, apparently. It's going to take some experimentation to get such light fur to look right. Erasers on yellow alert!
Tomorrow is my birthday!
