Happy Anniversary Portrait, completed!

This drawing is waiting for the customer's final approval, so she may yet have me adjust something here or there. But basically it's done.

I'm lucky to have such kind and patient customers. This customer gave me very helpful suggestions until I got her mother's face shape just right.

That's quite a tie, isn't it? That's how it looks in the original photograph. In my drawing I made the tie a solid color, because I like simplifying clothing in my drawings. But the customer asked if I could please include the pattern: "I know it's a little wild and swirly, but it's my dad's favorite (designed by Jerry Garcia) and he was quite proud of how well it matched my mom's dress that day." So here is the tie in all its glory!

See the drawing in progress here: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

You know, I feel weird writing about myself all the time. I would love to find other artist bloggers to write about, but I can't find very many that do similar art. There's a lot of pet portrait artists out there, though.
