Stand By Me portrait, part 1

Like most of my Christmas orders, this drawing is going to be made of several different photos.

Just to be clear, the woman (who is the customer's daughter) is in both of the photos. However, the customer does not think she looks good in the middle photo, so I am using the photo of her on the left and sticking her with the man in the center.

The game plan.

There are two problems with this. First of all, she's in a winter evening coat, and he's in a t-shirt and shorts. (What is it with guys and dressing up?) Enter Hunky on the right! He is modeling the outfit I'm going to draw on the guy. I found him on Google Images.

I added a tie to make it look a little more formal.

The second problem with combining these two photos is that the light sources are different. The woman is being lit by a flash, but the man is being lit by natural ambient light. Really the only thing I can do about this is use my imagination to mitigate the differences in lighting as much as I can. I don't think it should be too difficult.

So these two lovers, though parted photographically, will be brought together through the power of art. I'm getting all choked up just thinking about it.*

*Not really.
