Drawing from Brian Duey's deviantart page.
Brian Duey does beautiful, life-like portraits as well as still lifes. I love the way the eyes sparkle in the portrait above, as well as the detail put into the flyaway hairs, which really adds a lot of texture. But what I really appreciated about his website was the way he posted drawings from several years back - even silly high school drawings like this slightly disturbing one. Seeing his improvement throughout the years is interesting and encouraging.
Another sweet feature about his site were the tutorials. The one on drawing faces didn't seem to reflect his current skill level, but the tutorial about drawing teeth was very useful. I don't usually put a lot of thought into drawing teeth, but I'll be more meticulous about it from now on.
I've been a pretty busy worm lately, and haven't had much time for drawing. I am still working on the Angel portrait, and I think I'd like to refrain from posting any more in-progress drawings on that. You'll just have to wait until it's finished! It's going to be sweet.
